How to frost a man's hair?
Honestly if you do this with a cap it is going to look awful. I would try this. Style his hair normally. Mix your product and put on a glove. Using a small brush tip the specific ends by hand and with the brush. Work carefully, quickly and cleanly. Wipe off the entire brush after each application on a paper towel so you are getting the lightener everywhere. For the best result do not over lighten. Don't go crazy. This can look cool or tacky depending on where you place them. If this sounds too complicated most salons offer a "shoeshine" men's technique that is very fast and not too expensive. Best of luck.

You should still be able to pull the hair through unless it is a crew cut. Use a crochet hook to help pull the smaller hairs through. Make sure the cap is on very tight. If the cap isn't tight enough, use plastic wrap instead and poke holes yourself with the crochet hook. If it is honestly too short to pull through it probably isn't a good idea to frost it because there isn't enough hair there to provide contrast.

I would not use the cap. Brush the bleach on where you want the high lights. You may want to use foils also.
